Rights Respecting Action Group

The Rights Respecting Schools Initiative puts children’s rights at the heart of Barthol Chapel School

Unicef works with schools in the UK to create safe and inspiring places to learn, where children are respected, their talents are nurtured and they are able to thrive.

At Barthol Chapel School, our vision, values and aims gives our learners the best chance to lead happy, healthy lives and to be responsible, active citizens.  We work together as a team to make sure all children can enjoy all their rights.

Every child has rights, whatever their ethnicity, gender, religion, language, abilities or any other status.   The right to relax and play (article 31) and the right to freedom of expression (article 13) are as important as the right to be safe from violence (article 19) and the right to education (article 28).

Barthol Chapel School has achieved a Bronze Rights Respecting Award – the Recognition of Commitment which will evidence Barthol Chapel School’s commitment to the rights of the child.
